6:04:00 AM
right. this is only the second post, having been in the states for more than a month. work has been fine. sometimes mundane. but it gets really busy during lunch hour. sometimes just got to inject some fun into work. like the most bo liao games we can invent. but so far so good. we took greyhound to new york. 3 full days there. its very different from sandusky. lots of high rise buildings. the usual like what we have in singapore. just that they have more. most of the time we were walking around from place to place to sightsee. taking in the sights. walking around is probably one of the best ways to experience a country. 3 days, it was pretty rush still. we lived in upper manhattan area, 40 a night accomodation. times square. wall street. china town. little italy. caught Chicago on Broadway. ground zero.thai food. street turkish food. cold stone creamery. the subway. it'll be nice if we had more time i guess. to slowly take in the sights and enjoy new york. we speed walked to victoria secrets to catch the last few hours of the sale after conquering woodbury outlets. i think i sitll have money in my bank. and now i'm back in sandusky. and soon i'll be back in singapore. its kinda scary at how time flies. got to job hunt. urgh. heard my internship company has a hiring freeze. time to think about options. urgh. ok stop thinking about the future. just enjoy now. our next road trip will be to chicago. we have a deaf colleague at work. it has been interesting learning how to sign hamburgers/fries/onion rings to him so that he can prep our order. i also see people with other disabilities working here. blind. amputated legs. looks like singapore has a long way to go before we can accept such people as mainstream. ok im being very random. i cant relaly formulate my thoughts now. still kinda tired. we didnt get much sleep to new york, while in new york, while returning from new york, and late hours here. oh we went to catch a live baseball game. really cool. watching it on tv in our apartment as well. would love to play softball again! alright. random me signing off. |
