Sandusky, Ohio / 7:15:00 AM

its a 12 hour time difference over here. its pretty cold. when the wind blows its quite biting. skin gets dry. have to have that sweater with me. work is pretty mindless. i'm not complaining. such mindless work, gives the mind the space to think about other things.

the americans i've met have been very nice. strangers smile at you. and customer service is way better here cos they sincerely want to help you and they love their job. from a bus driver, to a electronics store manager, to a helper manning Walmart's trolleys. we mix around with the african americans while at work over here. they're really and entertaining bunch. honestly i've never seen so many of them, and ang moh people around me before. i'm getting used to it.

its nice to be in a foreign country. it feels like no one with judge you. cant wait to explore this place. would love to travel alone. maybe not this time. we'll see.

there's a lot of bigger size people around here. relaly big tummies. it makes me worry for their health. the employee's cafeteria sells fried food of cos. i've seen people eat 2 cheeseburgers at one go. or friend chicken tenders and fries and a small bag of chips. we do try to cook. or prepare sandwiches for lunch. i think living here and trying to save money by cooking our own food has unearthed the culinary potential in us.

the food. well its authentic american food. our first meal upon arriving in sandusky was, Macdonalds. some of us went for some salad buffet the other day. pretty fresh veggies. i'm not a salad person but i actually went for it. so far we had most of our meals home prepared. plus the long working hours and the lack of breaks. maybe i'll not grow sideways. We played Frisbee once in our housing area’s open space. A few African Americans joined us. Hopefully I get to go for a jog around here soon, maybe when the weather turns warmer. People gasp when we tell them that the place we come from is 90 farenheit.

And no Singapore is not part of China.

Sandusky is pretty quiet. Suburban. The only shopping mall over here spreads laterally, not up. They have that much land. I love the hypermarkets here. they have so much stuff. Baking goods, junk food, types of bread, bennjerrys for 2.50usd each.. wholemeal stuff. For a person who loves to go grocery shopping, it is a shoppers heaven.

Alright. That’s all for now. My entries don’t really flow. Time to go back to the apartment for home cooked dinner. And its back to work again next week. Looking forward to my off day to chill and explore.
